Automatically checks for diary updates.
ADI-diary.NET notifies you if any updates are waiting.
However, any changes in your diary are sent to their respective computers without notification.
To stop sending updates without notifications, clear 'Auto scan updates' check box.
If 'Auto scan updates' check box is clear,
ADI-diary-.NET sends or receives data only when Send or Receive buttons are clicked in the Diary Updates dialog box.

Internet connection timeout

If ADI-diary.NET cannot connect to the Internet, it will wait for the specified time and then exits the operation.
|
HTTP packet size
|
Applicable only if you are using Remote Accounts instead of E-mails to send and receive data.
Please leave this setting at its default.

Check Telephone Connection
|
A legacy function to detect an Internet connection is purposely left in ADI-diary.NET
for compatibility reasons from the times when Broadband was not so common.
If ADI-diary.NET cannot detect a dial up connection,
it will ask you if you have a permanent connection to the Internet.
To disable this function, clear the check box.

Auto scan updates
|
If 'Auto scan updates' check box is clear,
ADI-diary-.NET sends or receives data only when Send or Receive buttons are clicked in the Diary Updates dialog box.

Send data to my office computers
|
If you have more than one computer in different locations that share the same diary,
you can setup My Office connection. See Add another computer to My Office
This option stops sending data to the computers in your office without losing the connection.

Send data to other networks
|
If you are connected to a driving school,
this option stops sending data to driving school's computers without losing the connection.
|
Do not send data to yourself
|
If you have My Office setup
(see Add another computer to My Office)
and this option is enabled then all the updates will bounce back to your computer, creating a backup of your diary.

Transfer Images
|
Sends the attached image along with the pupils/instructor details
|
Place updates in processed box
Delete processed updates
|
For back reference you can keep all processed updates, otherwise they are deleted as soon as they are inserted into the diary.
|
Do not delete records
|
Applies only if a lesson is deleted on the remote computer and the update has been sent to your computer notifying that the lesson has been deleted.
In the previous version (for security reasons) lessons could not be deleted if accessed by remote computer, only a local computer can delete the lesson.
If this option is enabled any remote computer that is connected to yours can delete any lesson.

Do not alter records
|
If this option is enabled, no alterations can be made to your diary by a remote computer.
|
Delete rejected e-mails from server
|
Applies only if you use e-mails to transfer diary updates.
ADI-diary.NET accepts only e-mails that are digitally signed by another ADI-diary.NET.
Any other e-mals are rejected, giving you the opportunity to review them in other e-mail software.
If your e-mail address is dedicated to diary updates only, you can enable this option, which will ensure your account is clean from spam.

Do not return bounced updates
|
A diary update can be bounced back for many reasons.
If this option is enabled ADI-diary.NET sends it back to the sender with the reason why the e-mail or update had been rejected.
